I have immigrated
The last three days have been slow then fast then furious but ultimately exhausting. (The comma button has stopped working on this laptop!) I’ve never really been one to suffer from jet lag before but I don’t seem to be able to shake this off. Hopefully this is the last day of feeling like a moron on some really terrible drugs.
From New York to Nepa the air is so much dryer than the UK and my throat is barking like a dog. At about 7am this morning it was about -8c outside – so no morning walk out with the Riley dog for while.
We flew in on Saturday night on Virgin Atlantic. Don’t let them tell you that their new menu is all that – it’s their old menu but they supply you with an actual menu. New York (Jersey City) was bright and fresh on Sunday morning and once the dust settled we headed to the Brownstone Diner and Pancake Factory. I wont tell you what I ate there in case my doctor is reading.
Next it was off to Nepa and after counting at least 7 or 8 dead deer on the roadside I’d decided I was gonna buy me a pickup. A quick stop off at Coopers where no doubt I’ll be headed come my birthday for my free dinner (I could get a free every day in the month if I can convince someone to take me). At Coopers I find Napa Smith Organic IPA and I realise once again that I’m in the home of great American Craft Beer.
We’ve been taking it slow since we arrived with some cursory visits to see the Walmartians and I’m pleased to report that my UK PS3 is working fine in the US. Today we might go hunt for a new dog for Katie my sister-in-law. I think I heard her say “Surprise me” but I could be wrong…
